For my first weaving project I wove a table runner (or a scarf or a belt, whatever).
The warp (vertical) is a basic green and brown sock yarn and the weft (horizontal) is recycled sari silk that I purchased at the Millarville farmers market. I love how the colours in the silk come out!

Thanks Meghan, this stuff was great to weave with! awesome colours, a silky feel, and all the fuzziness of the yarn hid the fact that I don't have that much skill :D
ReplyDeleteRowan, this piece is awesome!! Look forward to trading yarn bowls for weaving :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jean, absolutely... I'm still playing with the scope of my loom (and trying to get an even weave) but just let me know what you want :D
ReplyDeletethat looks awesome, and like something that needs to be done with my recycled sari yarn too!
ReplyDeleteNat, come on over... we'll weave :D
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL Rowan! I, too, love how the silk came through. It's gorgeous. And I totally vote for belt...wrap that beauty around a knit cardigan or shawl and show it off! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela... It would certainly be fun if we were closer! Traveling the world is fun but it does make it difficult to sit down and hang out with one's friends
