Coulourwork and Weaving
As with knitting, you can play with colour in weaving. Since I'm new to this weaving thing, these scarves are just 2-colours in some pretty basic patterns. Both are woven with a yarn called Madeline Tosh merino light in dark blue (Baltic) and a very pale blue/grey (Chambray). the patterns are produced by how you warp and weave (instructions are here).

Little things
My mum bought me a fringe twister for my birthday... and thus... all loose/leftover yarn in the house is being made into cords. It occurred to me after twisting up some pretty sparkle yarn from Holiday yarns that I could make some darn cute little bracelets/anklets/necklaces for my etsy shop... and so I did! For $2 (plus shipping) you can have your very own little wooly bracelet :)

Fallen Trees
So this weekend we went for a small walk to go shopping. Coming to the end of our own street (maybe 150 m from our apartment), this was the scene we came upon. It hasn't been particularly windy or stormy, but it has been raining fairly frequently over the past week. Looking at the roots, which seem far, far too small for such a big tree, it seems that they just couldn't support the top heavy mass of the tree anymore and uprooted.
The sidewalk just past the crushed car and before the smashed brick wall is the sidewalk that we walk along every day to and from school. Whew!
Sadly, these two trees were my favourite trees of all of the trees in our neighbourhood. Immensely tall with huge canopies and extensive branching, they towered over everything in the area.
